Where do shutters originate from?
Take a journey back to 17th-century America – that is where the shutter trend began. Shutters in the Mediterranean style also adorn doors and windows across Southern Europe – often fitted on the outside of the façade.

How do shutters work?
American Shutters classically consist of panels fitted with adjustable slats. The horizontal slats of the shutters can be tilted steplessly, either manually or with the help of an operating rod. This gives you the flexibility to decide at any time how much sunlight you would like to enjoy in your home.
Differences can be seen, however, in the various shutter variants: As bifold shutters, they can simply be folded to the side to give a completely unobstructed view of the window. The panels of sliding shutters run in guide rails and can be moved individually – an ideal solution, for example, for doors or walk-in wardrobes. With bifold sliding shutters, you can both rotate the shutter panels 180 degrees and fold them towards the wall.

What makes shutters so special is their elegant material: wood. The solid wood creates a cosy atmosphere in your home and lends it vitality, warmth and a sense of comfort. Furthermore, shutters bring a touch of holiday flair with them, thanks to their distinctive look.
