Was ist eine Unterglasmarkise?
An underglass awning is a type of awning that is installed beneath the glass roof of a conservatory or patio cover. It provides retractable protection from sun and heat and can also serve as a privacy screen.
An underglass awning optimally protects your conservatory or patio roof from excessive heat caused by sunlight or curious neighbors. Because the underglass awning is located beneath the glass roof, it is—not like overglass awnings— not directly exposed to the weather. That is why it is also called an under-roof awning. KADECO offers you many shading options for your conservatory or terrace—for example, a high-quality custom-made underglass awning. Besides the dimensions, you can also individually choose the type of fabric and the awning color. A whisper-quiet motor, included in the price, as well as optional radio or app control and great lighting options make your new KADECO underglass awning an excellent shading solution for your conservatory or patio cover.
Our innovative, state-of-the-art underglass awnings – as the name suggests – are mounted beneath a glass roof structure. The awning runs in straight guide rails made of sturdy, powder-coated aluminum profiles. When retracted, the awning is fully protected inside a permanently installed cassette.
Underglass or under-roof awnings are primarily used for conservatories, but also for modern cold roofs or patio covers. Areas with a minimum width of 150 cm and a maximum width of up to 600 cm can be shaded. The projection can also reach up to 600 cm. The greatest advantage of an underglass awning: it is protected from the elements even when extended!
Whether used as sun protection in a conservatory or on a terrace: In addition to secure mounting—which is essential for the smooth operation of an awning—the aesthetic impact that an underglass awning creates at its installation site is primarily influenced by the color of the awning fabric. The functionality, such as the level of UV protection and the darkening effect, is determined by the material from which the fabric is made.
Whether made from acrylic or sustainable polyester, solid-colored or subtly patterned: you can perfectly adapt your KADECO underglass awning to your individual living environment. This allows you to create a tasteful accent that significantly influences the atmosphere in your home.
A special Reflect® coating optimizes the insulation capacity of a KADECO awning. It ensures that a large portion of the heat energy is blocked or insulated. Thanks to the reflective surface, an appropriately coated underglass awning prevents overheating in summer and helps reduce heating costs in winter.
Our extensive awning fabric collection includes various fabric types as well as a wide range of colors and trend-oriented designs. The material composition of your underglass awning not only affects the visual appearance but also the level of sun protection the awning provides. Which is better – an underglass awning or an overglass awning – cannot be answered universally. It depends on your individual needs and situation. One advantage of an underglass awning is that it is better protected from weather and dirt thanks to the overhead glass roof. In addition, the installation of an underglass awning may be simpler and quicker than that of an overglass awning, as no complex mounting structures are required.
