Window awning types: The right solution for every application

In the exterior window awnings category, you will find a wide range of high-quality, customised awnings in KADECO's large awning collection. You can choose from the following options:

Window awnings without ZIP guide

Window awnings without ZIP guide are available in two versions. On the one hand as a window awning with rail guide and on the other hand as a window awning with cable guide. In both cases, it is possible to link several systems up to 6 metres wide. The box is available in semi-circular and square versions.

Window awnings with ZIP guide

Window awnings with ZIP guide cannot be linked, but can be realised up to a maximum width of 6 m. The box is available in semi-circular or square. They achieve a wind resistance class of 3 (DIN EN 13561).

Awnings and drop-arm awnings

Window awnings are also available in the Markisolette version, which can be coupled up to 6 metres wide. The box is available in semi-circular or square.

Window awnings in the form of drop-arm awnings can be realised up to a width of 6 m, but cannot be linked. Drop-arm awnings are available with a semi-circular box or as an open version.

Classic among window awnings: the vertical awning

Vertical awnings, also known as vertical awnings, are attached to the outside of the window and are equally suitable for glass façades and the glazing of your conservatory. The beneficial additional effect: they effectively improve the indoor climate and enhance the appearance of your façade at the same time.

At KADECO, we have two versions of vertical awnings available for you: the version without ZIP, which are fitted with a cable guide or rail guide, and the window awnings with ZIP, which are even more wind-resistant thanks to their high fabric tension and do not allow light to enter from the side. This is because the ZIP window awnings open and close using a zip principle along the mounted side profiles.

Drop-arm awning: sun protection with a view to the outside

The special thing about a drop-arm awning is that it provides shade without restricting the view. This type of window awning is often used in conjunction with large patio windows, balconies and loggias. It consists of two drop arms and an awning fabric or screen, which disappears into a sturdy cassette when retracted.

Markisolette: the all-round awning at the window

As a special form of window awning, awnings combine the properties of window and drop-arm awnings. They first slide vertically down the window and then extend using the drop arms. In this way, they provide shade and privacy, but still allow a clear view through the lower part of the window.

The advantages of window awnings in summer and winter

When the sun is high in the sky and shining with all its might, the benefits of a window awning are obvious: it prevents too much sunlight from entering your interiors and thus ensures that they do not overheat. Larger glass fronts in particular benefit from a window awning.

In winter, window awnings act as heat insulators, as they also ensure that not so much room heat escapes through the windows. This can have a positive effect on both your heating bill and your ecological footprint.

Visual highlight with function: the awning fabric

Depending on which fabric you choose for your new KADECO window awning, you not only influence the appearance of your window awning, but also determine various functional properties. You can focus on special aspects such as weather resistance, a high level of heat protection by reflecting the sun's rays or many other details. Choose from our wide range of awning fabrics in various colours, designs and fabric qualities:

  • Acrylic fabrics - the tried-and-tested classics: colourfast, dirt-repellent and UV-resistant
  • Polyester fabrics - strong fabrics: lightweight, stretchy and crease-resistant
  • Technical fabrics - the functional ones: Fabrics and screens with special properties such as high weather resistance, waterproofness or good visibility

Installation and operation of your window awning

Your window awnings are installed by an experienced KADECO specialist dealer, who will install your awning safely and securely. Depending on the window awning model selected, there are various installation options to choose from. For example, the awning can be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted.

The classic operation of our electric window awnings for outside is carried out as standard using a motor that is activated by a wall switch. If you want more flexibility, opt for remote control and add our wind and sun sensors. These detect strong winds and intense sunlight and automatically retract or extend your sun protection awning as required.

You also have the option of integrating your awning into your smart home. Suitable accessories such as the Tahoma box open up completely new possibilities, allowing you to control it via an app and create automated sequences and timers, for example. For even more convenience and enjoyment of your window awning.

Frequently asked questions about window awnings

Do you still have questions about our window awnings or about the topic in general? Then you'll find the answers here:

What is typical for KADECO exterior window awnings?

The cost of a KADECO patio awning depends on various factors: On the one hand, the chosen model of patio awning is decisive, as well as the desired size of the awning. On the other hand, customisation options such as awning fabric, operating options, valance and accessories also play a role. A KADECO specialist dealer will therefore calculate the price of your new patio awning individually for you.

What different types of window awnings are available?

KADECO offers vertical awnings with cable guides, ZIP window awnings, drop-arm awnings and awning slats. You can configure all our window awning types to suit your individual needs at your local specialist retailer.

Do window awnings help to improve the energy balance?

Especially in times of hot summers and cold winters, KADECO window awnings can certainly help to reduce your energy consumption. In the warmer months, they prevent rooms from overheating and thus save on the energy used by the air conditioning system, while at low temperatures they help you save on heating costs by helping to keep the heat inside the house.
