What types of fly screens are there?

Fly screens, also called insect protection, come in a variety of shapes and versions.

Insect protection tension frames are especially suitable for windows as they remain permanently outside the window. The window sashes can still be opened inward without restriction.

Insect protection hinged frames for windows and doors impress with easy opening and closing via a handle and can also be equipped with a cat or dog flap.

Insect protection swing doors allow passage in both directions without having to operate the door by hand. Strong block magnets ensure the swing door always swings back to the center position.

Insect protection sliding frames are ideal for use on large doors or window fronts. They can be easily opened and closed via an integrated grip rail or additionally with a foot-operated plate.

Insect protection pleated doors and pleated frames save space as the system can be folded into a narrow package. Additionally, very large areas can be realized.

Insect protection roller blinds are suitable for windows up to 200 cm wide and are very easy to operate using a grip rail. With just a few hand movements, the insect screen roller blind can be opened or closed – whenever needed.

Light well covers are specifically designed for light wells, basement windows, and vaulted windows with built-in light wells to protect them from insects, rodents, and coarse dirt. For this, durable, corrosion-free fabric made from 0.5 mm thick V2A steel is used.

ClearScreen: This high-quality premium fabric impresses with excellent visibility thanks to its thin, black, and extremely tear-resistant fiberglass threads. It offers good air permeability and transparency while maintaining high stability. The ClearScreen fabric also features a lotus effect on the surface, which causes dirt to simply roll off.

GreyScreen: This grey plastic-coated fiberglass fabric appears very discreet from the outside. A grey spline is used to match the fabric color.

AllergoScreen: The top recommendation for allergy sufferers! With AllergoScreen, your insect screen is equipped with a premium fabric that blocks over 80% of airborne pollen, protecting you not only from insects but also from grass, birch, or flower pollen.

PetScreen: This especially durable fabric, available in grey or black, is the ideal choice for households with pets.

SteelScreen: For floor-level windows, vaulted windows, or basement areas, we recommend the SteelScreen fabric. Woven from 0.22 mm thick V2A stainless steel, it is bite-resistant and protects against small rodents and bats.

SteelGrid: Installed in our robust light well covers, the SteelGrid is highly effective. These light well covers use ultra-sturdy stainless steel mesh made from 0.5 mm thick V2A steel to guard against small rodents, leaves, and heavy dirt.

How does a professional fly screen work?

KADECO fly screens consist of a stable frame construction and a fine-meshed yet durable insect screen fabric. Depending on the selected model, the fly screen is mounted in front of the window or door to prevent insects from entering the interior of the room.

The way the insect screen can be cleaned depends on the type of fabric used. For example, our popular ClearScreen fabric features a surface that allows water droplets to bead off and remove dirt particles in the process. In general, however, all fabrics are easy to clean by simply rinsing them under running water.

Do fly screens need to be removed in winter?

KADECO insect protection solutions can remain installed during the winter. They also provide protection from crawling insects during the colder months and allow for undisturbed ventilation. If desired, the insect screen frames can also be quickly and easily removed.

How is the insect screen installed?

The installation of KADECO insect protection products depends on the selected model. Installation without drilling is also possible.
