Pampas grass – decorating ideas & care
Pampas grass – the latest trend
Hardly any decorative element is experiencing such a huge hype in the interior scene as pampas grass. Our little pampas grass guide reveals why that is, how to stage it perfectly and how to care for it.
Understated extravagance: why pampas grass is simply unmissable
Decorative elements are often associated with a particular interior style. Pampas grass is quite different. At first glance, it may appeal especially to boho and vintage lovers. Yet thanks to its understated elegance and cosy appeal, it can equally be combined with almost all Scandinavian-inspired styles. The variety of sizes and colours makes it easy for you to find the ideal pampas grass for every room.
Eyecatcher: How to beautify your living space with pampas grass
It doesn't take much: a vase and one, two or more stems of pampas grass – and your new decorative element is ready. That is precisely where the almost endless possibilities lie. But which vase is the right one? A vase with a vintage look or a vessel made from a natural material such as rattan harmonises particularly well with the boho style. Place the stems in an extraordinary glass vase and a distinctly more modern touch will instantly flow through your living space – and combined with houseplants and succulents, pampas grass also delivers a stylish performance.
Pampas grass comes in different sizes and therefore gives you a wide scope for design. In a particularly large room, tall floor vases with very long and bushy stems look stunning. In the bedroom or bathroom, on the other hand, a small flower vase with just a single stem can be just as effective. You can also combine it with other grasses or dried flowers to create an exquisite bouquet.
Pampas grass care tip: so you can enjoy it for longer
The wonderful thing about pampas grass as a decorative element: it is super easy to clean and care for. The stems need no water once they are properly dried. They are also very long-lasting. The only thing is that the flower head may gradually lose a few seeds. You can prevent this with a little hairspray – ideally spray it lightly from bottom to top. To keep the stems fluffy, you should give them an occasional gentle shake.
